We are well aware that some homeowners believe arborists like us enjoy causing damage during storms. That might be the case for certain tree care businesses. After all, every industry has its share of bad apples. However, quality tree care businesses are no more excited about those storms or the damage they cause than the typical homeowner.
Why not?
Because it’s not all about the income we stand to make when a devastating storm sweeps through. Such storms have numerous detrimental consequences. We can handle damage, of course, but we prefer to focus on prevention rather than dealing with tree damage that is beyond anyone's control. Let us dig deeper into why we do not anticipate a surge in business following a large storm that caused significant damage.
We love trees, and we do not want to see them damaged.
If you have a classic car that you take to a trustworthy mechanic, that mechanic isn’t waiting on bated breath for the day you come in with that car after an accident. He or she likes working on that car because they appreciate it. And that’s how we feel about trees. They are more than just a typical weed.
Nice trees enhance landscaping, provide natural protection from the elements, and share a history with your property. We’ve seen innumerable trees where kids and parents read beneath their leaves, and where swings hang from branches. We do not want to see those trees suffer.
We love our clients, and we don’t want to let them down.
We never disappoint our clients in terms of the actual service we provide. However, when we are unable to respond to a client's demands in what we believe to be a timely manner, we cannot help but feel as if we are failing them. And that is almost inescapable when dealing with the aftermath of a severe storm.
Homeowners throughout North Carolina know the value of a great tree service company, and we have a long list of clients that wouldn’t go anywhere else when they need an arborist. That can result in a bottleneck when, suddenly, everyone needs similar services all at the same time. It’s a stressful situation, and it’s not our ideal way of working.
We love our team, and we don’t want to overwork them.
The staff itself is one of the best aspects of MTD Tree & Landscape. Here at MTD Tree & Landscape, we value one another as well as the larger MTD family as the Dega Nation. Although we are fortunate to have such a committed workforce, we do not want to see them suffer from long hours and tired days after a significant storm.
Safety is a top priority for us, and there’s only so hard a team can push itself before safety is affected. An exhausted team is more likely to have a mishap than a team with a more manageable workload, and we know that our staff and their families count on us to send everyone home in good shape. We couldn’t take that responsibility more seriously.
We love what we do, and we don’t want to compromise.
Every member of our team is proud of the work and services we deliver. We need everything operating at its best so that we can deliver the caliber of service that our clients have come to expect. That goes for both our arborists and our equipment.
After a destructive storm, our equipment might be severely damaged, and with our staff overworked, it can be difficult to keep everything maintained and operating at its best. Naturally, we do it because we are aware that we cannot make any concessions there. However, it is just one more obstacle to overcome as we work feverishly to maintain the amazing level of service excellence for which we are renowned.
